EPR compliance, handled end to end.
If you place packaged goods, electronics, batteries or textiles on the market in Europe, the UK, Singapore or the US, you owe registrations, data reports and fees under Extended Producer Responsibility rules. Stratos runs that obligation for you — from the first assessment to every recurring declaration — on a data model you can audit.
Request an EPR assessment See what's includedThe producer pays for the end of life of what they sell
Extended Producer Responsibility makes the company that first places a product on a market financially responsible for collecting, recycling or disposing of it later. In practice that means registering with a national authority or producer responsibility organisation, reporting the weight and material of what you sold, paying fees calculated from that data, and — increasingly — designing products so those fees fall.
The rules are national even where the framework is European, the definitions of "producer" differ by country, and thresholds move. Most companies are obligated in more places than they think, particularly when they sell online across borders or use a distributor who assumes they are covered.
Consultation to set it up. Management to keep it running.
Obligation assessment
We map every product line against every market you sell into and tell you exactly where you are a producer, what you owe and what you have missed.
- Product and packaging classification
- Country-by-country obligation matrix
- Threshold and de minimis checks
- Historical exposure and back-reporting risk
Registration and scheme membership
We handle producer registrations, scheme selection and authorised-representative arrangements where you have no local entity.
- National registers (e.g. LUCID, Repak, UK RPD)
- PRO / compliance scheme selection and contracts
- Authorised representative appointment
- Marketplace and distributor documentation
Packaging data model
EPR runs on data. We build a per-SKU model of materials, weights and formats from your ERP and supplier data, so every report comes from one governed source.
- SKU-level material and weight capture
- Supplier data collection workflows
- Sales-volume mapping by market
- Audit trail for every declared figure
Reporting and fee management
We prepare and file every declaration, reconcile invoices from schemes, and keep a calendar of what is due where.
- Periodic and annual declarations
- Fee forecasting and budget planning
- Invoice reconciliation and disputes
- Deadline calendar across all markets
Eco-modulation and fee optimisation
Schemes charge more for hard-to-recycle formats. We model what a material or format change does to your fees before you commit to it.
- Recyclability scoring by market
- Scenario modelling on the packaging twin
- Design-for-recycling recommendations
- Fee impact of supplier or format switches
Ongoing management and audit support
A retained service that keeps you compliant as rules, volumes and product ranges change, and stands behind your numbers when a scheme or regulator asks.
- Regulatory change monitoring
- New-product and new-market onboarding
- Scheme audit and verification support
- Board-level compliance reporting
Where we manage obligations
| Market | Framework | Streams | What it typically involves |
|---|---|---|---|
| European Union | PPWR (packaging), WEEE, Battery Regulation, national transpositions | Packaging, electronics, batteries, textiles (emerging) | Producer registration in each member state where goods are placed on the market; national scheme membership; recyclability-based fees from 2026. |
| Germany | VerpackG, ElektroG, BattG | Packaging, EEE, batteries | LUCID register entry, dual-system licensing of packaging, WEEE registration with Stiftung EAR, authorised representative for non-German sellers. |
| Ireland | Packaging, WEEE and battery regulations | Packaging, EEE, batteries | Repak membership or self-compliance, WEEE Ireland / ERP registration, periodic tonnage reporting. |
| United Kingdom | Packaging EPR (pEPR), WEEE, batteries | Packaging, EEE, batteries | Report Packaging Data (RPD) submissions, scheme membership, PRN obligations, modulated fees for large producers. |
| Singapore | Resource Sustainability Act | Packaging, e-waste | Mandatory packaging reporting and 3R plans for larger producers; e-waste EPR via the appointed scheme. |
| United States | State packaging EPR laws (OR, CO, CA, ME, MN and others in progress) | Packaging and paper | Registration with the state PRO, annual supply data reporting, fees phased in state by state. |
This is a summary for orientation, not legal advice. Thresholds, deadlines and definitions of "producer" differ by country and change often; we confirm the current position for your products as part of the assessment. Other markets are covered on request.
Four steps from unknown exposure to a managed programme
Assess
Two to three weeks. We collect your product, packaging and sales-by-market data and return an obligation matrix, a risk register and a costed plan.
Register
We complete registrations and scheme contracts in every obligated market and appoint authorised representatives where needed.
Report
Your packaging data model goes live. We file each declaration on schedule and reconcile every fee invoice against the data behind it.
Optimise
With a year of clean data, we model format and material changes to bring fees down, and keep the programme current as rules change.
Compliance built on a data platform, not a spreadsheet
One model, every market
Your packaging twin holds each SKU once and generates every country's report from it — no parallel spreadsheets drifting apart.
Fees you can forecast
Because fees are computed from the same data you sell with, you see the cost of a new product or market before launch, not on the invoice.
Teams on three continents
Singapore, Dublin and New York cover the APAC, EU/UK and US regimes in their own time zones and languages, including German for DACH registrations.
